Somewhere between Pat Benatar and 90’s grunge/rock is where you will find Plastic Angels. Known for their power-house vocals, moody rock riffs, and provocative lyrics, Jeff Lawson & Bethany Pierce began writing together on Cape Cod, MA in 2013 under the moniker ‘Angry Ginger’. After nominations for local Limelight Music Awards such as “New Artist of the Year”, “Female Vocalist of the Year”, and “Live Act of the Year”, the pair never looked back.

Following a name change to ‘Plastic Angels’ they released an EP sarcastically titled, “Kings of the World” in 2016 in collaboration with Grammy-Nominated producer Joel Hamilton. They began promotional touring in New York, Massachusetts, and California. Their thought-provoking, sophomore release ‘Wake’ produced by Grammy-nominated Jon Evans in 2018 gained national and international attention with a showcase performance at the 2019 NAMM show and radio airplay throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. Newly signed to RL Recordings (Universal Music Group), Plastic Angels is slowly proving that they are a musical force to be reckoned with.

1990’s and beyond…

In the early 90’s, Chris recorded on the Boston Blues Blast-Volume 1 and did Earring George’s Whup-It CD as well as CD’s with Ron Levy and Henry Lee Spencer (see discography). During this period he also worked with the following artists : James Cotton, A.C. Reed, John Mayall, Howard Armstrong, Bobby Hebb and Big Al Downing. More recently he’s played behind re-discovered R and B great HOWARD TATE, jazz guitar legend JAMES BLOOD ULMER as well as New Orleans piano icon-HENRY BUTLER and the late PAUL PENA. FRONT PAGE BLUES (see CD’s), his first CD under his name was also recently released to good reviews. For 6 years Chris was involved as a performer/consultant for the Blues Schoolhouse Band 3 mornings a week at the late, lamented Cambridge House Of Blues. The new millennium has found him in a new role as a producer, producing 2 critically acclaimed cd’s for Oklahoma bluesman WATERMELON SLIM (see discography) as well as working on a new cd with Louisiana blues and soul man-Chicago Bob Nelson. Racky Thomas Band (1883 Lounge) No Cover

The Racky Thomas Band has been a torchbearer for the blues since its formation in 1995, when Racky Thomas collaborated with bassist Todd Carson, guitarist Nick Adams, and drummer Ted Larkin to make a demo CD and do some gigs around the Boston area. Thomas spent ’96 and early ’97 abroad before returning to Boston, with the intent of putting the band back together and taking another stab at cracking the blues scene.

After an invitation to enter Boston’s 1997 Battle of The Blues Bands and the addition of pianist Ron Poster, the band went on to win and traveled to Memphis to compete on a national level. After not making the finals in Memphis, the band traveled home, humbled, yet with a stronger resolve.

Following the departures of Larkin and Poster, the band, in various formations, forged ahead, releasing four critically acclaimed, independently produced CD’s, including their most recent effort: Hard Travelin’, and making numerous club and festival appearances, opening for such luminaries as Luther “Guitar” Jr. Johnson, Ronnie Earl, and Sue Tedeschi; and highlighted by a trip to France in 2010 to perform at the Terri Thouars festival.

Led by Gary Bernath, the Lights Out Blues Band’s repertoire is centered on what was arguably the golden age of the blues. Much of that soulful music was recorded in the 1950’s and early ’60’s by the Chess brothers (Phil and Leonard) on Chess Records with harmonica giant Little Walter Jacobs figuring prominently in this great body of work. The band faiithfully brings this music to life on stage along with the blues and rhythms of later artists such as Charlie Musselwhite, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Sonny Landreth to name a few. Original tunes penned by Gary and Jim Atkinson round out the band’s repertoire. The Lights Out Blues Band features Gary on vocals, harmonica, and saxophone, Clay Brown on vocals and guitar, Brian Rost on string bass, and Chris Tosti on the drums
